No Elizabeth, the problem is that people such as yourself take comfort in the ignorance of believing that bias and racism don't exist in this country...just because you've never experienced it. Obama being elected does not erase the years of racism and bias that exist between black and whites, and it certainly does not change minds of people that still carry this bias to the core. I would argue that the cartoonist and supporters such as yourself are uncomfortable with anyone who does not lay down and adopt your view of this country. And this is why we are still having discussions like this in 2009. Until people like you open their minds and consider another point of view, we will always have conflicts like these.

Socialism is an economic concept. It has nothing to do with Moral Values. Please know what you are saying before you spout out anti-socialist, anti-European rhetoric that makes any case you make seem incredulous and ignorant. Case in point, the government just bought stakes in banks with the bailout, that's a socialist move. There's leftist-socialism (somewhere between capitalism and communism) and right-socialism (think Mussolini and having "the trains run on time"). Socialism can be found on the right, left, and center of politics.

Webster Dictionary:
any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

If you want to be hateful and fall back on the "traditional values" argument... go live in the 1950s, the 1850s, or any time where equal rights change was resisted because of tradition. You don't have to do so, but if you want anyone that disagrees with you "move to Europe" then your ethnocintricity has no bounds.

For the sake of everyone, educate yourself on U.S. history, World history, and the cultures of the world before you condemn others in a nation made up various peoples from all backgrounds. I belong in America just as much as you, we are a nation of immigrants from various religions, creeds and thoughts, even if you don't see that.

You will have to answer to Him when he asks why you invoked his name to purue attitudes of discrimination and hate against your neighbor. We all will.
